Teacher asked minors for sexual photos in exchange for doing homework, police allege

OSAKA — A junior high school teacher arrested on suspicion of engaging in obscene acts with a minor was served a fresh arrest warrant for creation of child pornography after receiving topless photos of two minors, Osaka Prefectural Police said.

According to police, between October 2011 and February 2012, Akinobu Takahashi, 41, a teacher at Kawanishi Minami Junior High School in Kawanishi, Hyogo Prefecture, had a 16-year-old girl in Fukushima Prefecture and a 15-year-old girl in Hokkaido send a total of four photos to his computer. Takahashi has partially denied the allegations, investigators said.

Prefectural police say that the Fukushima girl posted a message on an Internet bulletin board in August 2011, saying, “I’m looking for someone who will do my homework for me.” They say that after Takahashi wrote a book report for the girl and sent her 40,000 yen, he demanded the photos in return.
