Police nab 89 minors for online posts

Police working undercover caught and gave guidance to 89 minors for making suggestive posts online in the six-month period through the end of September, the National Police Agency said Thursday.

They were caught after online investigations, targeting people under 18 and conducted by 10 prefectural police departments began in April in the face of an increase in the number of Internet-mediated sex crimes involving minors.

According to the NPA, 88 of the minors were girls, with an average age of 16, according to the NPA. A total of 14 were junior high school students, with the youngest being 13 years old.
